‘Facts Up Front’ Labeling

Forces have been joined to boost awareness about front-of-product labeling. The campaign comes as the marketers face more examination over health and nutrition issues. This systems will provide more clarity for consumers and ease regulatory concerns. This initiative is being supported by some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Kraft Foods, General Mills, and Hershey Co. This program will replace the ‘Smart Choices’ labeling system, which was ended in 2009. Even though the new system is intended to improve information available to consumers, some leading nutritionists have reservations.
